Milton Allen Etheridge, Sr., 80 of Sweet Water, died Jan. 5, 2018 at Thomasville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born Feb. 20, 1937 in Sweet Water to Willie Maurice and Johnnie Lucille Etheridge. He was a member of Sweet Water United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Milton Allen Etheridge, Jr., his parents, and three sisters, Janice Murphy, Wynita Atchison, and Mary Ann Downey.

He is survived by his wife, Celia Etheridge of Sweet Water; son, Thomas Morris Etheridge (Daphne) of Sweet Water; two daughters,

Denise Etheridge Beck (Barry) of Gulf Shores and Susan Etheridge Cowart (Yann) of Montgomery; daughter- in- law, Shea Etheridge of Putnam; 10 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Jan. 7, 2018 at Sweet Water United Methodist Church with the Rev. Adam Hughes, the Rev. Robert Baker, the Rev. Bob Singleton, and Yann Cowart officiating. Burial followed at the Putnam Cemetery in Putnam with O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Active pallbearers were Rob Beck, Harris Etheridge, Ben Cowart, John Thomas Etheridge, William Etheridge and Houston Norris.

Honorary pallbearers were Nolan Atkins, Bill, Bishop, Jack Bishop, Todd Bishop, Curry Callahan, Roland Davis, Billy Downey, Billy Ernest, James Ellis Kelley, Stratton Lewis, Champ Smith, Tommy Ware, The Sweet Water City Council, Thomasville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, and Southern Care Hospice.
